Trailside Museum of Natural History
Our group will meet at 2:00 p.m. at the Trailside Museum of Natural History office. There will be a 10 minute grace period before our guide leads us along the Des Plaines River.
As we hike, we will share stories of our families and their migrations from the south to the north, the history of Illinois and the Underground Railroad and a special guest covering the symbols and signs used to help chart the passages of slaves escaping to freedom.
This hike is appropriate for all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Please dress for the hike/weather. Layered clothing and winter boots suggested.
This is a free event, but you must register in advance. For more information, please click here.
