Girl Scouts & Boy Scouts, 6th grade and up are invited to participate in All Scout Nano Day sponsored by the International Institute for Nanotechnology (IIN). All Scout Nano Day includes presentations by graduate students and professors on “What is Nanotechnology?” and “Being a Scientist,” demonstrations of high-end laboratory equipment, and hands-on activities that illustrate nanoscience concepts. It also includes an informational session for parents on how to encourage and support their children’s interest in science and engineering. Each troop is also invited to present a poster (prepared in advance) on a nanotechnology concept or discovery. A team of graduate student reviews the posters for content and creativity. The day concludes with a pizza party and poster award ceremony.
Tickets are required for all Scouts and adults. We suggest a maximum of two adults per Troop and 10 Scouts per Troop to allow as many Scout participants as possible. If you need more than 10 tickets for Scouts, please contact Mike Kleppinger at email@example.com. The price is $10 per person.
